Flame Retardants

Inovia Materials LLC designs and develops new flame retardants based on ionic liquids. The tailorable structures and novel properties of ionic liquids enables a complete redesign of new generation flame retardants.
1. Flame retarding elements P, N, S, etc. can be designed in one molecule, and the best flame retarding performances can be obtained.
2. The structures of ionic flame retardants can be tailored towards different plastic materials so that compatibility and processability can be improved; optical properties (transparency) of plastic will not be affected; mechanical properties of plastic will be less affected.
3. When used in combination with traditional flame retardants, ionic flame retardants can improve compatibility between additives and plastics, enhance retarding performances, and mitigate effects of additives on the properties of plastics.

PC flame retardants

Inovia Materials has developed different formulas that can be applied in film/sheet, compounding/mold and glass fiber reinforces PC resins. The film and sheet can be transparent or opaque. Click for more information.

PET flame retardants

The PET flame retardants Inovia can be applied in PET film and PET fiber, respectively. The dosage level required to meet the flame retarding performance is much much lower, exhibiting disruptive advantages. Click for more information.

PBT flame retardants

Inovia Materials has developed a formula ER-M1443 that can improve the flowing behavior while keep the Charpy impact strength. Click for more information.

PETG flame retardants

Inovia PETG flame retardants only require 2.5% to achieve UL V0, and doesn’t affect the transparency and mechanical properties. It will expand the applications of PETG, especially in 3D industries. Click for more information.

TPU flame retardants

Inovia TPU flame retardant just need 1.5% dosage level to achieve UL V0 flame retarding performance. It can be applied during TPU manufacturing or compounding step. It can be used alone or in combination with MCA. Click for more information.

PMMA flame retardants

Inovia Materials has developed the first flame retardant AR-S11 that can afford PMMA UL V0 with the transparency intact. It can be used alone in casting PMMA, or with AR-S210 in compounding PMMA. Click for more information.
